Layla has been working hard in piano lessons with Carol and has been practising regularly at home. I remember listening to Layla play at the school piano concert last year and what stood out to me most about her playing was how steady her beat stayed and how she played at a speed that was fast enough to enjoy the music, but slow enough that she could play all the notes accurately.
Lately she has been practising a piece called Sherlock Holmes. And so our creative Layla decided not just to play the music, but to put on a spectacular performance for her music teachers! David Bowie may have released a new album, but St Martin’s has their own character-performing piano player!
